The Spinnerei an der Lorze cotton mill opened in 1854 and created a new industrial area on the eastern edge of Baar, with boarding houses for the workers' families. Production ended in 1993; the surviving group of buildings includes the old mill, the boiler house, the power station and the water reservoir. The Lorze industrial trail explains the industrial history along the river.
