Zug Castle goes back to the 11th century; Johannes Zurlauben placed the half-timbered building on the old shield wall in 1555. After the restoration of 1979 to 1982, the cultural history museum of the town and canton of Zug moved in. It shows the everyday and cultural history of Zug over the last 500 years or so, including a model of the town around 1730.
