The housing market in the canton of Zug is very tight. Scammers take advantage of this. These are the patterns to know.
Typical scams

- Advance payment or deposit before the viewing, often by transfer abroad, with gift cards or cryptocurrency.
- The landlord is said to be abroad and the key will come by post.
- Contact only by messenger or email outside the platform.
- ID and salary documents requested before the viewing.
How to protect yourself
- Never pay anything before the viewing.
- Only sign with the landlord or the property management.
- The deposit belongs in a rental deposit account in your name.
- Only share ID and salary documents once you are offered the property.
